The Hate U Give is a realistic fiction book about a 16-year-old African American girl who witnessed one of her best friends, a boy named Khalil, get shot by a police officer. The story follows the girl, Starr, as she tries to find justice for Khalil.
This riveting book was one of the best books I have ever read. It gave me another perspective on a lot of heavy social issues. It helped me realize what is going on with police shootings and made me want to do something about it. I think that everyone should read this book because it confronts social issues that everyone needs to be aware of.

Have you ever made the same mistake over and over again and wondered why? Well read on to learn the hilarious story of Avery Dennis’s senior year tragedy through her friends, family, and foes point of view.
“Avery: I had aged in only a matter of days, and it was all because of . . . the incident.” (pg. 2)
A hilarious story of a girl’s dramatic dating life told by her friends, families, and foes.
When Avery Dennis finds herself single, days before the most important event of her high school career “prom” she dedicates her last high school history project to researching her previous relationships. Her investigation hysterically unfolds as she interviews her past boyfriends to figure out why her relationships always end. As she goes through her interviews, Avery finally understands the person she is now and along the way discovers who she wants to become.
I really loved this book because it’s very different from books I’ve read before. I’ve never read a book with more than three points of view, so it was nice to get to read others views on the same situation. Filled with many laughs and awe moments “It’s not me it’s You” will always be my go to book for a great read.
